Allergies Anyone?

So Hannah has really bad allergies, courtesy of her dad. She has been struggling lately with being congested, especially at night time. The other night when we put her to bed, I kept hearing her get up and go to the bathroom to get a tissue. Before I went to bed, I went in to check on her, this is what I saw!

Like any good mom, I went and grabbed my camera and then left her like that to sleep peacefully.
When she woke up the next morning, I asked her if she knew that she fell asleep with her finger in her nose, to which she responded that it wasn't her finger but a tissue.
Darn those allergies!

Summer Sewing

For those of you who know me, you know that I love to be creative. Most of the time that involves sewing things for my sweet Hannah. Since I don't have much time to sew during the school year, I always sew double time during the summer. For the past couple of years, I have been making Hannah some Twirly skirts. This year I found a pattern that I LOVE with a drop waist. I would give a tutorial on here but I am not very good at that so I will just attach the links that I found the patterns on. The first skirt is a drop waist twirly skirt. I got this pattern from a blog called Just Deanna. This skirt turned out so cute. I was a little unsure about the fabrics, because there is very little orange in the print fabric, but I just love it!

I loved it so much I decided I needed to make some hair accessories. I wish I could pull off a headband like that! The flower tutorial came from a blog called anniescupboards. The middle of the flower I just played around with. you could also just put a button in the middle.

So when this skirt turned out so cute, I had to make about 5 more right? They are all pretty much the same just different fun fabrics.

Again with the flower hairbows, this time with buttons

These hairbows didn't turn out like I wanted them to, but they are cute enough.

This pattern is a little different, it is called a three tiered skirt that I got off of kuky ideas. The tutorial is a little harder because it requires a little algebra. Very basic! The thing that is good about this one is that you can make it for any size child with a few measurements.

Kool Aid for Sale

Hannah woke up this morning with huge plans for the day. She decided she was going to make some extra money (I thought you had to have money to make extra money :) ) The way she was going to do this was to sell makeup. When I questioned her about where she was going to get the makeup to sell, she reassured me that she wasn't actually going to sell the makeup, but she was going to do make overs on people and charge them for it. After a couple of hours of organizing and sitting out in the sun she decided that make overs is not a very lucrative business. So she came up with plan #2... Kool-Aid. Why didn't I think of that? When her and her friend were in making signs I asked them how much they were going to charge for their kool-aid to which Hannah responds $4 because I know how to write a 4. You Go Girl!!

Who wouldn't want to buy Kool-Aid from these cute girls?

You have to make sure that everything is just perfect!

Hannah's Dance Recital

Hannah starting taking dance at In-Motion Dance Studio (little plug) last summer and she has enjoyed every minute of it. She especially loves the large mirrors. Tonight we had her dance recital and she was amazing. I was a little nervous that she would clam up, but oh no, not my little ham. She did a fabulous job and she was so beautiful.

But We're Not Camping

So the weather outside has been so mice lately and we have all been loving being outside. Yesterday, Hannah was outside in the backyard playing and I was inside making dinner. I love my new house because the back of the house is full of windows and I can see her almost anywhere in the backyard. For a brief moment I couldn't see her so I peek my head out and yell her name. She answers me and I realize she is sitting pretty close to the side of the house in the flower beds. As I look down I can see that she has her pants down and is going to the bathroom. WHAT!! When I asked her what she was doing, she said, "I was just pretending I was camping and I had to go potty!" I thought only boys did things like that:)

Hannah's Fourth Year

It is hard to believe that our little Hannah is four years old. She has grown into such a little lady over the past year. Here are a few of the highlights in the last year of Hannah's life:

1. She started a combination dance class with tap, ballet and tumbling. She has discovered that she loves tumbling the best and can even jump on the trampoline on one leg.
2. She is attending her second year of preschool at Country Loft and loves her teacher Ms. Clarissa.
3. She has moved into a new home and really enjoys her new bright blue bedroom.
4. She has completed her collection of Princess Barbies and loves Jasmine and Pocahontas the best.
5. She has learned her alphabet both capital and lowercase letters. She loves to write notes to her family and friends and will not let mom spell anything out for her. She does and great job and is eager to start learning to read.
6. She is a regular on pbskids.org and loves playing the letter/sound matching games.
7. She has learned how to access mom's fav five on the phone and frequently calls the flower(Grammy), the red shoe (Grandma) and the lipstick (Aunt Jami).
8. She loves coming to school with dad to see mom and acts like she is just one of the kids. (I feel sorry for her first grade teacher, and no it will not be me)
9. She is a sweet little girl who has discovered that she has a great singing voice courtesy of the Broadhead side of the family. She also has the talent of learning and memorizing lyrics of almost any song she hears courtesy of the Schleger family.
10. She continues to be the light of our lives and is growing into a strong determined young lady every day.
